The People Behind MK-Flightsystems

Four people, one passion.

Mike, Ria, Ralf, and Stefan — four people, one shared passion for flying. Our gear is born in practice: we spend an enormous amount of time on the dune, testing, refining, and never quite finished. Because a good wing can always get better.

Mike Küng
Mastermind & Wing Design

Mike Küng

Mike is the heart of MK-Flightsystems — the mastermind behind our wing design and at home in the air since 1987. As "Mad Mike," he's one of the best-known names in international paragliding: in 2000 he won the acro world championship "Wings over Aspen," and in 2003 he crossed the English Channel by paraglider.

He set his altitude world record in 2004, jumping from a hot air balloon at 10,100 meters. In 2020 came another world record: a head-first dive from 7,100 meters over Lake Achensee — at minus 25 degrees, without supplemental oxygen. That experience from thousands of flight hours goes directly into every SUPRA.

Ria Küng
Management & Operations

Ria Küng

Ria is the managing director of MK-Flightsystems and the team's steady hand. While Mike focuses on wing design, she keeps everything running behind the scenes — from organization and processes to everything that actually keeps the shop moving.

Her eye for detail and calm, reliable manner turn Mike's visions into real products and working structures. Anyone who deals with MK-Flightsystems quickly notices: Ria is the person things actually get done with.

Ralf Bielmeier
Partner, Social Media & Training

Ralf Bielmeier

Ralf is a partner at MK-Flightsystems, a longtime friend of Mike's, and runs the brand's social media presence. Through him, the community hears the stories behind the products — from test flights to everyday course life.

As a trainer on Mike's team, he passes his knowledge directly on to pilots and regularly runs groundhandling courses on the beach and in the field. That closeness to practice makes him the bridge between product development and what pilots actually need day to day.

Stefan Schneiter
Trainer & Tandem Pilot

Stefan Schneiter

Stefan has been an enthusiastic paraglider pilot for almost 40 years and supports Mike's groundhandling courses as a trainer. The Swiss native is also an experienced tandem pilot, bringing decades of practice across a huge range of flying terrain.

What sets him apart: Stefan teaches course content just as convincingly in theory as in practice. With him, participants don't just understand what to do — but why.
